How to include your kiddos in your pregnancy announcement.

Are you looking for fun ways to include your kiddos in your pregnancy announcement? I have some fun ideas! Kids want to be included in these things and feel the joy with you.

Take some photos with your kiddo and make THEM feel special! Often times we make these sessions all about the newest babe coming, which is great for some of the photos. But how fun when you can place the ultrasound photo on the ground- implying you’re expecting and the rest of you just playing and excited in the moment. That’s what this session was.

This one is a favorite! Have your older kiddos tell their newest sibling in mom’s belly a secret! This one I usually will try if they aren’t interested in kissing the belly. But usually younger kids are all about giving mommy’s belly a kiss. If this doesn't work, try the prompt, “can you tickle mommy’s belly with daddy?” It’s all about kids- they run the photo session and I am there to try everything!

Another favorite, ok, they all are! I usually ask parents to snuggle (holding the ultrasound or belly) and ask kid(s) to run around them! “Can you tickle them as you go around?” “How fast can you go in a circle around them?” “Will you point to baby brother/sister?”

Snuggle each other is something you will hear me say at least 10x a session. This one I just had everyone snuggle and get comfortable doing their thing. Everyone touching in some way, looking down at baby, and let their daughter just do what she wanted. Place the ultrasound photos in there and you have an announcement photo! Ideas are limitless and all sessions aren’t alike.
